The short, simple letter was so refreshing to readers, many of them called and enrolled the same day they received the package.

Humana is an insurance company based in Louisville, Kentucky. In 2021, they ranked 41 on the Fortune 500 list and are the third largest health insurance provider in the nation. 

During the hectic Medicare enrollment season, Humana needed a way to stand out and be heard among people aging into Medicare or those looking to switch. As they had done for several years in the past, Humana contacted J&C.

Using our proven copy and design tactics, we boiled the offer and benefits down into an easy-to-read 100-word letter.

The Hartford & AARP

Direct Mail Acquisition Campaign

The Hartford is a leader in property and casualty insurance, group benefits and mutual funds and are widely recognized for outstanding customer service excellence, sustainability practices, trust, and integrity. When they needed a fresh, new direct mail campaign to generate new auto insurance customers, they turned to J&C.

Knowing we had just done a similar project for Allstate, they were confident we had the experience and direct marketing know-how to get the job done.

J&C created three new concepts with the intention of testing one. The Hartford liked all three ideas and tested them against their current control package. When the test concluded, two of the three J&C test packages had bested the control and one equaled it.

Mutual of Omaha is a highly rated, Fortune 300 organization offering a variety of insurance and financial products for individuals, businesses, and groups throughout the United States.

With lots of competition in the market and new players showing up every day, it was important for Mutual of Omaha to tell prospects why they were the better choice for life and AD insurance.

They asked Jacobs & Clevenger to help them get the word out. With decades of experience in this vertical, J&C put together a comprehensive direct mail package that was informative, yet easy to read and understand.

Jacobs & Clevenger created a powerful social media campaign for Humana that balances visual appeal with compelling messaging. The campaign features a series of mobile-optimized posts showcasing Humana's dental insurance offerings with a consistent Humana green and white color scheme that reinforces brand recognition.

Each post features concise, benefit-focused copy that quickly communicates the main benefits to readers.

The tooth icon creates a recognizable visual anchor throughout the campaign, while the clean layout and strategic use of white space ensure that the message stands out in crowded social feeds.

Trade Show Booth

The Park District Risk Management Agency (PDRMA) is a leader in the risk pooling community. They are a cost-effective alternative to the commercial insurance market for Illinois park districts, forest preserve and conservation districts.

PDRMA needed a trade show display that would attract visitors' attention and quickly convey complex risk management benefits, so they asked J&C for three options:

Design 1: Emphasized PDRMA's in-house staff, partnership approach, and broad coverage options.

Design 2: A series of vertically-oriented panels organized by benefit categories. This approach allowed for flexible arrangement based on trade show space.

Design 3: A comprehensive five-panel display with a central focal point highlighting PDRMA's mission.

These displays helped PDRMA engage potential members more effectively and showcase their comprehensive service.
